I don’t know about you, but I love a good bargain, especially when it comes to travel gear. That’s why Dollar Tree is one of my favorite pre-trip stops. Believe it or not, you can find genuinely useful travel items for just $1.25 or less. And no, this isn’t a sponsored post, I’m just genuinely obsessed with the place.
Below are some of my favorite travel finds from Dollar Tree that I’ve actually used (and relied on!) while on the road:
🧲 Magnetic Flashlight
This one has three settings and a magnetic back. I used it in a hostel once where the light switch was across the room. Thanks to the metal bunk bed, I just stuck it above my head and voilà—instant reading light.
🩴 Flip-Flops
Perfect for hostel showers, quick coffee runs, or even beach days. They’re lightweight, easy to pack, and if they get ruined, it’s not a big deal.
🛍️ Reusable Shopping Bag
Super helpful for destinations where stores don’t provide disposable bags. I’ve also used it as an emergency personal item when I’ve been forced to check my carry-on at the gate.
🛁 Shower Caps
Yes, they’re great for protecting your hair, but I also use them to wrap dirty shoes before packing. Cheap, compact, and effective.
💁♀️ Travel-Size Mousse
I’ve seen brand-name travel-size mousse at various stores but it normally costs $3 or more. Perfect for maintaining your style and combating frizz in those humid destinations.
🧴 TSA-Friendly Shower Kit
Essential if you’re flying carry-on only. Bonus tip: put a small piece of plastic wrap between the bottle and the lid to prevent leaks caused by cabin pressure.
🕶️ Sunglasses
Cute and functional. I like bringing a cheap pair I won’t cry over if they get lost or scratched.
🪥 Mini Crest Scope Brushes
Not necessarily a replacement for brushing, but great after long flights, overnight buses, or meals heavy on onion and garlic (guilty!).
🥣 Millie’s Drinking Broth
This saved me when I was super sick in Paris. I could barely leave bed, but I managed to get hot water from a café and sip this for comfort. Highly recommend packing a few. Also, they’re vegan!
💬 Final Thoughts
Whether you’re a frequent flyer or prepping for your first big trip, it’s nice to know you don’t have to spend a ton on travel items. These Dollar Tree finds have seriously come through for me.
